Local Softshell Crab Sandwich, SO Easy and Delicious!
INGREDIENTS
- 4 Soft Shell Crabs, cleaned and rinsed
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp Londonderry Spice Blend
- 2 tsp cracked pepper
- vegetable oil for frying
For Sandwiches:
- brioche buns
- sliced heirloom tomatoes
- bibb lettuce
- your favorite sauce (we serve ours with home made remoulade)
DIRECTIONS

Pour 2 inches of oil in a heavy frying pan or large pot and heat to 350 degrees F.

Put the flour on a plate and using a fork, mix your Londonderry spice blend and pepper into it.

Dredge the crabs in the seasoned flour to coat, shaking off the excess.

Lay the crabs in the hot oil in a single layer without crowding. Be careful, the crabs tend to pop and spatter.

Cook crabs for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown. Place them on a paper towel lined plate.

Build your sandwiches to your liking!
