Cruisin’ with Christine: A New Lifestyle Video Series of Londonderry on the Tred Avon

Easton, Md.Londonderry on the Tred Avon is excited to share a new video series titled, Cruisin’ with Christine, which features behind-the-scenes video interviews held by new CEO, Christine Harrington, as she learns more about Londonderry. They are proudly partnering with The Talbot Spy Publisher and Executive Editor, Dave Wheelan, to educate both residents and community members about the Londonderry lifestyle.

“What better way to kick off Christine’s tenure than cruising around and talking to different folks on campus?” asked Rachel Smith, Londonderry’s Director of Sales & Marketing. “She knows the Eastern Shore well, but this is a great opportunity to learn more and more about Londonderry, our residents, activities and the team. She is just a natural when it comes to engaging in conversation and has such a passion for senior living. I love watching her engage with everyone.”

The video series was developed as a way for Harrington to get to know more about Londonderry, as so many day-to-day operations happen behind the scenes. We also look forward to highlighting Londonderry residents, who come from all different backgrounds and are involved in various activities on and off campus, to get a realistic perspective of day-to-day life at Londonderry.

Harrington’s first stop was with Londonderry’s Director of Dining Services, Chelsea Harris, to get a sense of what goes into running the beloved private restaurant on campus. Harris shared that they’re “open seven days a week, 365 days of the year, for lunch, dinner and brunch service,” with the help of her supportive team in the kitchen and on the restaurant floor. She also told Harrington about free meal delivery services for residents, the creative freedom she and her team have while working on their extensive menus, which feature fresh ingredients from local vendors, and the importance of resident feedback when deciding what to serve.

Harrington most recently visited with Londonderry resident, Bob Grill. Bob and his wife chose to move to Londonderry five years ago because they enjoyed the “independent living, the services received and the friendliness of everyone.” Before moving, Bob had a successful building construction career of 50 years and missed his long association with the Rotary International. Knowing that he could not be the only one in the Londonderry community who missed it, he decided to form a Londonderry satellite club of the Rotary Club of Easton. The group consists of 19 members “who all believe in the Rotary motto, “service above self.” Robert and the other Rotary satellite club members have helped seniors and other community members who are in need in Talbot County by holding supply drives and assisting local Rotary clubs with their projects.

“Londonderry has such a big story to tell,” said Smith. “From our history, to our beliefs on aging, to how we are all a big family. Cooperative living is about working together. You will be able to see this evolve throughout Harrington’s interviews. We have endless possibilities with Cruisin’ with Christine. You never know who will show up next!”
