I was born, raised, and educated in the Philadelphia area. I married in 1968 and had a daughter in 1974, Mandy. I earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Temple University in 1983. Mandy and her husband, Scott, have two children, Nora, 19 years old, and Nolin, 16 years old.
After receiving my MPA, I then spent five years in the University’s Planning Office working with various departments reviewing and upgrading their facilities.
This was followed by my first job in town management at a small borough of 7,000 residents in upper Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Over the years, towns where I worked grew in population and square miles with increasing challenges. Altogether, I spent 25 years in public management. My last community in Manchester, NJ, a township of 46,000, had the full complement of public services: police, fire, public works, utilities (water and sewer), recreation and senior services.
In the ensuing years, I visited the Eastern Shore numerous times to sail and bike. I fell in love with Talbot County and bought a home in Martingham.
With my continued interest in community service, I spent 14 years on the MartinghamProperty Owner’s Association Board, four years on their Utility Co-op Board, and 12 years on the Swan Road Villas Condominium Board, six years as President.
I was asked to serve on the Talbot County Social Services Advisory Board, which I did for six years.
As I approached retirement and began the long search for a retirement community, I was impressed with the co-op management style as a way for owners/residents to actively participate in the daily working of their community. When ready, I moved into Londonderry in September of 2023.
Seeing that the Londonderry Board has funded a review of its Strategic Plan, I hope, if elected, to work on that project to strengthen Best Practices of our senior co-op community. In recent years at Londonderry, I was a member of the Finance Committee which, I think, will aid me in my services on the Board.
Please know that I’ll be available to hear opinions and ideas from all residents and will always keep our residents’ needs as my highest priority. I look forward to serving you.Thank you.
